Siouxie and Budgie of the Banshees on second offshoot album in 1989. This is a magnificent album and showcases Siouxie's vocals against Budgies inventive percussion (drums/marimba and vibraphone). Recorded near a rural church it has bird sound clearly audible in the background on the quieter tracks. I think it's been out of print for a long time but it's such a great album.
I first heard this around 1989-90 when at Hither Green nurses home from Jo Woods - a lovely girl from Torquay, in the room opposite me. She also started my lifelong love of The Velvet Underground. we used to sit out on the flat roof outside my room in the long demolished Victorian Hospital. It was a chaotic time and I was 18 going on 19 and still very shy.
